Call it the galaxy that got lost.  Call it the collection of hockey’s brightest stars who never get a chance to shine.  You are talking now about over 2000 teams and 34,000 players who have never had an opportunity to compete for a yearend championship.  It’s like Barnum and Bailey making up its schedule for a season and forgetting to include New York.

It took two people to stir this into action.  Kevin Mann of Advanced Arena’s Inc, and John Kelly of the National Hockey Rankings web site.  The two gentlemen had a design to put all of travel hockey back on even ground.  “There has been over a generation of kids who have never been involved in a championship extravaganza at several age and ability levels of youth hockey”, said John Kelly.  But you can bet and take it to the bank that these teams would like to compete against others across the country, if they are given the opportunity to show their worth as a yearend team.  “We want to showcase the best teams in the United States and have some fun in the process.  These teams do not want their season to end in February,” said Kevin Mann.

HOW IT WORKS
www.nationalhockeyrankings.com is the largest and most comprehensive youth hockey ranking site in North America.

TOP TEN SEEDED TEAMS BY

WILL BE INVITED TO ATTEND

Twelve different age classifications and 120 total teams will be invited to attend.  If a team elects not to attend then the next seeded team will be invited to participate.

Advanced Tournaments the largest US youth hockey tournament provider will coordinate all logistics, including hotels, ice schedules and operation of the event.  The Chicago Mission AAA Tier One Program will be the host organization for the event.

So as the hockey season draws to a close, the excitement of league play-offs takes hold, and then the best teams focus turns to the battle for the US Hockey Championships.  It makes sense considering the diversity of all the age classifications and levels in youth hockey.  This will add greater interest, add new energy and enhance hockey with a year end classic.  It’s good for the players.  And that’s what it’s all about.

So Tier 1 and Tier II Hockey has been awakened and obviously alerted.  The first annual US Hockey Championships, will be played March 24-26th in Chicago, Illinois.
